Finished Mural

Here's the finished mural. It took me 3 tries to get this uploaded! I'm going to the gym, and will try and post another pic tonight before I go on duty. I have several cartoons to post also, it's just that the internet connection here is so iffy sometimes, it takes awhile to post! We have a group shot of all the unit members with the mural...I'll try and get that one posted too.

Helping with unit mural.

Here I am helping with the 354th MPAD unit mural at Camp Buerhring, Kuwait while waiting to move to Iraq. The mural was designed by, and most of the work done by, Sgt. David Gray Turner of the 354th. Sgt. Turner is a profession muralist from Richmond, VA., and an extremely talented fine artist who is known for night-time cityscapes (done in oils) of Richmond. Do a google search to check out his artwork.

Army Regulations

CPT Edwards and me are flying out as advance party to accompany a pallet loaded with our unit's gear. The reason we have to go with it is that, "normally, units ship their crew-served weapons on the pallets." We have NO weapons on our pallet, but, you see, "normally" there are weapons...so, we have to accompany it! The CPT also can't take his footlocker, because we're only allowed two duffel bags and one carry-on. The locker is the same size as a duffel bag, but IS NOT a duffel bag!!!!

Hiding...

One of our broadcasters, SPC Samuel Conrad, ordered embroidered name tapes from a local Korean seamstress....everyones came back ok, except his...they were spelled Conard!

Band of Brothers...and Sisters!

This is most of the unit after CBRN training...Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear. The black is from the decontamination kits that we used while in the gas chamber...more stuff I hope to never use in real life!!!!

More MOUT stuff

SSG Sauret and me clearing the corner of a hallway...hmmm, pretty big hallway!

The Three Musketeers...

...er, maybe the Three Mouseketeers? SSG Sauret, SFC Thomas Cornaby and me during MOUT.

MOUT (Military Operations in Urban Terrain

A fancy way of saying, "clear that building!" Me and SSG Michel Sauret clearing a stairway with our 4-Soldier stick...thank God we're Public Affairs and hopefully will never have to do this in the real world...but, we will be covering the infantry Soldiers who will be doing this in the Baghdad area of ops.

Low Ready

This is one reason that I'm tired all the friggin time! At least 60 pounds of gear, and that's without 210 rounds of ammo, LoL
